Scott Montgomerie joined Semanti Corp in 2006 as CTO. He has been the principle architect of the
company’s products and has been involved at an executive level in the overall vision and direction
of the company. In January, 2008 he assumed the role of president and CTO.
Prior to joining Semanti Corp., Montgomerie was involved in a number of product development
initiatives at Intuit Canada. Montgomerie was the principal architect of the company’s Taxwiz
desktop tax preparation software, worked in the QuickBooks development team, and was a member
of the Intuit Center for Innovation where he developed a number of disruptive products such as
SnapTax, a web based preparation service; Profile PA, a tool for professional accountants; and a
web-based expense tracker that integrated with QuickBooks.
Montgomerie came to Intuit Canada as part of the acquisition of TaxWiz where he was the lead developer on that
company’s tax product.
Montgomerie is a published researcher in the field of Bioinformatics and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in
Computing Science from the University of Alberta.
